City Clerk

The City Clerk is an officer of the City of Bloomfield who works in coordination with the City Manager.

This position is a statutory role required by New Mexico State Law and the City of Bloomfield’s Articles of Incorporation.

Responsibilities

The City Clerk’s Office provides administrative and records management services to the City. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and maintaining official agendas and minutes for Bloomfield City Council meetings

  • Providing administrative support and services to the Mayor, City Council, and City Manager
  • Processing requests to inspect public records in compliance with the New Mexico Inspection of Public Records Act (IPRA)

  • Serving as the official custodian of City records and overseeing record retention, archiving, and authorized destruction
  • Overseeing the issuance of business licenses and business registrations

  • Administering the City’s liquor licensing process, including applications for special liquor dispenser permits

  • Coordinating and directing the publication of required public notices

City Council Meetings

City Council meetings are held on the second and fourth Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. and take place in the City Council Chambers, located at:
